I robbed a bunch of mimes at knifepoint and got away with it–none of them talked.
(I was actually miming a carrot, but they thought it was a knife–stupid mimes.)

Perhaps you were pretending to hold the wrong end of the carrot and confused them.

But then they flagged down a police officer and mimed to him that you had falsely imprisoned them in a glass cube.
At which point the officer became fearful for his life and shot them.
